“Envision”– NMSA’s Annual Junior Visual Arts Exhibition

Each Spring semester, our Junior Visual Artists embark on new personal projects, with teacher and peer guidance, to develop a series of self-expressive pieces featured in this collective class exhibition.  Students research artists and themes of their choosing as they merge personally meaningful concepts and media.  As a group, they learn to install the exhibition with instructor support and develop pre-professional visual arts skills along the way.

The Junior exhibition is an example of one of VA’s many intentional skills scaffolding experiences.  “Envision” supports students by developing their ability to research and build a personal body of work in preparation for their Senior Thesis Exhibition and eases them into the challenge of balancing creative freedom with the added responsibility to a deadline and one another.

Opens Friday, March 6, 5-7 pm, runs through Thursday, April 9th, 2026
